Rating Star Trek Movies.

I am a Trekkie. (Nope, not a Trekker. Those guys are scary. They were their uniforms to jury duty and get married by Starfleet.) I trained myself to make the Vulcan salute by jamming a nickle between my fingers. Any how, hear is my ranking, in descending order, of the Trek films exclusive of the current one.

1 (tie) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Great script and effects that are still good over 20 years later.
1 (tie) Star Trek: First Contact. Great script, Borg, and rock'n'roll.
3 Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Fun as well as the information that Spock had done too much LDS in Berkeley in the 60s. (You should have heard the howls in the Utah theater.)
4 Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. A little preachy and PC but hey Klingons and Shakespeare.
5 Star Trek Generations. Kirk and Picard didn't quite gell.
6 Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Ho humm, except for John Laroquette as a Klingon.
7 Star Trek IX: Insurrection. Yawn, STNG episode masquerading as a movie.
8 Star Trek X: Nemesis. Same as Insurrection only with a Picard clone.
9 Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Disco Trek as well as a retread of a TOS episode. (Not to mention the freaky bald gal.)
10 Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Abysmal script and Uhura's fan dance 25 years too late.

(No review of the current one until after I see it with Mom--I want to live.)
